Know which accounts keep the system running.
Record the automation platform, model provider, connected business systems and hosting. Agree who owns the accounts, pays the subscriptions and can administer access. Keep credentials out of ordinary documents and email threads.
Ask for a usable operating guide.
A handoff should describe the trigger, inputs, outputs, approval steps and known exceptions. The team needs to know how to pause the flow, recognise a failed run and continue manually when necessary.
Understand what can be moved.
Available exports, source code, data and licences depend on the chosen tools. Agree the deliverables and transfer process before the build. An export alone may not include credentials, subscriptions or the hosting environment.
Name the maintenance owner.
Define monitoring, change approval, backups, response targets and responsibility for vendor changes. Ongoing support and its service levels belong in the support agreement rather than being assumed from the initial build.
