Include human checks and exceptions in the post-change time. Cash realisation can be 0% when released capacity does not reduce spending or produce attributable income.

What the calculation means

Hours released = monthly tasks × (minutes today − minutes after) ÷ 60. Capacity value = hours released × hourly value. Monthly cash benefit = capacity value × cash-realisation share − monthly costs.

Simple payback = one-time cost ÷ positive monthly cash benefit. Twelve-month ROI = (12 × monthly cash benefit − one-time cost) ÷ one-time cost × 100. A zero one-time cost makes the percentage ROI undefined.

This simple model assumes steady monthly volume and benefit. It excludes ramp-up, taxes, financing, discounting and costs not entered. Released hours can remain useful capacity rather than cash savings. Compare equal-quality work and validate the assumptions against actual pilot results.
